Barbie Dream House

The very first Barbie Dream House was made of cardboard and filled with mod furniture. Its bold pink and yellow mid-century style defined the start of Barbie’s empire. Unlike later plastic versions, the 1962 Dream House is now a rare artifact of early Mattel design. It’s highly collectible, especially with all furniture intact. Owning one is like holding a piece of feminist toy history—Barbie’s first independent space.
